The Level Up Ventures Mentor Network is comprised of a group of highly engaged experts who hail from diverse backgrounds and who bring with them a diverse set of experiences. They are mission-aligned allies who have generously chosen to donate their time to Level Up portfolio companies and who have a vested interest in program’s success given their own commitment to reducing the wealth gap for people of color through entrepreneurship. Participation in Level Up’s Mentor Network is by invitation only.

ROLE Mentors provide an important source of support for Level Up portfolio companies and work to support and encourage founders while providing active guidance to help them achieve their goals by providing a fresh perspective and an independent point of view. While each interaction between a mentor/founder will be unique, and based on the mentor’s area of expertise, mentors may help founders by:

• Sharing work experiences that can be helpful to the founder • Listening and providing feedback and advice • Helping to establish appropriate goals and milestones • Identifying and addressing gaps in knowledge or resources • Making introductions on behalf of founders to those in their network • Advice on recruiting and hiring the appropriate talent

TIME COMITTMENT The time commitment required of each mentor depends on their availability as all engagements are on an opt-in basis, however we request mentors allocate a minimum of 1 hour per month to meet /work with founders.

MENTOR / MENTEE MATCHING All new requests by startups for an introduction to a mentor must be facilitated by a member of the Level Up team, who will confirm the mentor’s interest / availability prior to making the connection.
